Kathryn Luckstone
Theater Dance Instructor
|
As an honors graduate from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, Kathryn Luckstone combines her love for theater with her extensive
knowledge as a dancer. Classically trained in ballet, Kathryn uses a wide variety of styles to influence the theatricality of her pieces. Ranging
from Argentine tango to stage combat, her choreographic inspirations stem from various cultures and techniques.
As a dance instructor for six years,
Kathryn works with students on their ability to use dance to convey emotion and ultimately to tell a story. She encourages the building of a
character to differentiate from a routine while using a core technical foundation for the dancers to build upon. Also trained in Fosse technique,
she emphasizes musicality and physical nuances to enrich the choreography.
Kathryn has choreographed musicals such as “Brigadoon”,
“Sweet Charity” “Red, Hot and Blue”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Summer Kisses”, “Lulu” and “Working”. Kathryn is delighted to be a
part of InterRhythm Arts and believes in the mission to create a challenging program while maintaining a non-competitive and nurturing environment.
